April 2016 Newsletter from Brian

APRIL 2016 PRIMARY NEWSLETTER FROM BRIAN

Hi All,

I know it has been a while again, but things have been very busy. I never realized how much there was to do when I ran for Commissioner 4 years ago.

I committed to doing this job to the best of my ability and doing whatever it took to get the job done. That became a fulltime job, plus. I am not complaining. It has been a really challenging job and I have very much enjoyed it. I enjoy going to work every day and serving you. It is an honor and a privilege.

I am writing this to let you know of our accomplishments in the last 3 1/2 years, and it has flown by. Much like getting older and hopefully wiser. I am still not a fan of politics and definitely not a fan of campaigning, but the campaigning is necessary to keep and or get the attention of those who are unaware of the accomplishments and successes we have made.

I first want you to know that through it all, I have kept the faith I have in my God. I have done all things through Him and can look in the mirror every morning and know that I am okay and have served Him throughout. That is very important to me. I am and always will be a sinner, but I have honored Him and did my best in listening to Him the last 3 1/2 years of service. I not only believe in serving His creation, I have very much enjoyed it and am satisfied I have done what I can in my limited capacity. I have accomplished all put on my plate and done it with integrity and without compromising my faith and beliefs.

Here is an overview of some of the things done in the last few years:

New 911 Public Service Center, New Safer, Bigger Shooting Range, New Court System, New Adult Probation Center (Remodel of the old Key Bank), New Training Facility and Voting Machine Storage and Work Center, New Secure Compound around the Sheriff’s Office Complex, Much Maintenance Completed on Many Government Owned Facilities Including the Museum and Courthouse. Many things have been let go over the past 30 years. This maintenance will save us much money over the next several years. We have made many Departments more effective and efficient and continue to do so. I also Authored the Ordinance to allow Johnson County Residents to be able to Keep and Bear Arms without Federal Government interference. It may not be necessary, but it is in place if needed. If nothing else, it is a statement to all that we believe in our God given right to protect our families and our property. There are many other things we have accomplished, but it would be much to list. I again ask that you please attend a Commissioner Meeting or two to see how we operate and what we accomplish.

I am very pleased with what we have done and hope you are too. I have given it my best.

I have been your full-time, part-time paid Commissioner for the last 3 1/2 years. I have saved the county and taxpayer enough to pay my salary for the next 12 years by personally doing the construction management for the two state mandated projects we had to accomplish in the 911 Center and the New Court System. I have continued doing that management throughout all of the finished projects and have saved us much more in those. I believe this Board of Commissioners will go down as the most engaged, effective, and hardest working Board of Commissioners in the history of Johnson County. We have established a good working relationship with the Council even through some very tough issues. During many years of running a multi-million dollar business, I never stressed or lost sleep as much as I have in the last 3 1/2 years. I absolutely love serving and doing this job. I want Johnson County and myself to be the “standard to which all others are compared”. I have not been afraid to make the hard, tough decisions that set us apart and make us progressive. We, as a Board, have accomplished much in my first term, but we are not done. We have much more to accomplish. Most of all, I want you to know that I know in my heart and soul that God called me to this place. It has been an honor to serve you as I have continued to serve The One and Only True Living God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and of that I am surely not ashamed.

As I said, time has gone by very quickly and I am now up for re-election in the May Primary. I ask that if you approve of the job I have done and would give me the honor and privilege of serving you for another four years, please get out and vote for me. I have an opponent in the Primary and need your help to continue. Please, if you believe I have worked hard for you and would be an asset for you to continue in this honorable position, let people know.

Thank you for your time in reading this and I hope to be able to bring you further Newsletters from your Commissioner in the future.

God Bless Johnson County, Indiana, and the United States, and God Bless us all!

In Your Service,

Brian
